BLACKBURN, Linda Ann Carrocci, 62, of Wintersville, died Saturday, January 12, 2013. Linda was born October 26, 1950, in Steubenville, the daughter of the late Dominic and Helen Mininni Carrocci.
Linda was a 1968 graduate of Steubenville Catholic Central High School. She worked in many capacities over the years. Linda “never met a stranger,” and was her happiest with positions that involved children. Linda’s most recent position was as a correction officer with the Jefferson County Juvenile Detention Center where she worked from 1997 to 2009. “Miss Linda” had the gift of helping countless juveniles feel loved and develop a sense of self- worth.
Linda will be missed greatly by her fiance and longtime companion, Dave Vogel; daughter, Teresa E. Blackburn of Wintersville; her sister, Noreen Carrocci (husband, Robert Benson) of Wichita, Kansas; aunts and uncles, cousins and countless friends.
Visiting hours will be Tuesday 4-8 p.m. at the Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, 4435 Sunset Blvd., Steubenville.
A Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated Wednesday 9:30 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Msgr. Kurt Kemo, celebrant. Entombment at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
